Karlee’s venture into beauty wasn’t just professional, it was deeply personal.
Born in Urumqi, China, and raised in Canada, she built a career that spanned continents, working with iconic names like Tiffany & Co. in New York and Huda Beauty in Dubai. Wherever she moved, Karlee faced the same frustrating cycle, brittle hair, dry skin, and products that never quite delivered. Years later, after countless trials and research, she discovered the real culprit wasn’t her beauty routine, but the water quality.
This struggle sparked an entirely new chapter and her pioneering move into the beauty space. Upon discovering chlorine and hard water were causing damage to her beauty routine, she set out to create science-backed solutions that would counteract the effects of hard water on skin and hair. In 2019, Hello Klean was born.
As the brand scaled, Karlee and her Co-Founder, Omer, relocated from Berlin to the UK to drive its expansion. In just four years, Hello Klean earned a spot on the shelves of industry leaders like Selfridges, Sephora, and Cult Beauty—cementing its place in the beauty aisle, while successfully taking to the screen on Dragons’ Den.
What began as a personal struggle has grown into a brand that redefines how we think about water and beauty, empowering people to take back control of their skin and hair health.
