Jamil Shinawi is a serial deep-tech entrepreneur, investor and ecosystem builder based in Dubai. He is CEO and Co-founder of AHOY, a core-tech infrastructure company focused on redefining movement, mobility, logistics and AI-enabled spatial systems across MENA.
He is also Co-Founder of Actual VC, a venture fund launched in 2024, where he invests in and advises emerging founders across the region. AHOY currently works with and supports more than 40 portfolio companies across AI, logistics, mobility, renewable energy, urban planning and construction tech, giving him a broad and informed view of innovation and sector convergence.
Jamil engages with global investors including SoftBank, J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs, EQT Ventures and Accel, while maintaining close ties with the MENA startup community through platforms like Reflect and AHOY’s founder network. He was recently named one of the UAE’s leading voices on LinkedIn with an Influence Score placing him in the Top 1 percent of creators in the UAE and Top 2 percent in Venture Capital globally.
