Zeyad Almajed is the Founder and Managing Partner of Sophic Ventures, a venture building house focused on science intensive industries. Zeyad’s career spans 25 years of experience in corporate R&D, government cluster policies, and commercial strategies development. He is currently building a life science venture and an RFIC semiconductor design company in Sharjah ,UAE.
He started his career at Eaton Corporation Corporate R&D responsible as a technologist responsible for commercialization and product development with a portfolio of six products and 2 patents. Mr Almajed then had a distinguished career in the government of Dubai as Director of Economic Policy Development at the Dubai Development and Investment Authority, and was responsible for the economic clusters strategy development at Dubai Holding.
Mr. Almajed also held a number of private sector positions, as General Manager of International Energy Group, a natural gas and clean energy conglomerate, Advisor to Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) on development of Alain aerospace cluster. Mr Almajed also served on the advisory board of Ascent Medical Venture Capital fund II, the Middle East first medical device technology Venture Capital Fund. He completed his degree in Mathematics in the United States at the University of Wisconsin and currently pursuing his graduate studies in Biomedical Science and Engineering at the American University of Sharjah.
