FARIDA EL AGAMY

Farida F. El Agamy is the General Manager of the Tharawat Family Business Forum, the private network and knowledge hub for family-owned companies in the Middle East and North Africa, since 2009.
With her professional background as a lawyer, Farida F. El Agamy joined the founders of the Tharawat Family Business Forum to support and foster the sustainability, innovation, and growth of family firms.
She has set up a variety of programs around corporate entpreneurship for business owners and is a founding member of the global Women in Family Business (WIFB) network. Together with her team and global partners, Farida F. El Agamy runs ground-breaking research projects and initiatives with a goal to empower family-owned companies across the MENA and beyond. She is currently also Editor-at-Large of the Tharawat magazine, and a Director at Target Developments LLC and Orbis Terra Media LLC her family’s firms in Switzerland.
Farida read law in Switzerland and the UK and qualified as a barrister at the Swiss bar. She practiced administrative, corporate and contract law in a leading Swiss law firm, and worked for several local and federal government agencies. Her previous professional experience include positions as associate lawyer at the United Nations in Geneva and as advisor on corporate structures and transformation of family-owned firms to Boards of Directors across the world.
Speaking six languages, Farida’s Dutch and Egyptian family backgrounds and international upbringing have shaped her global understanding and her active social engagement, always striving for a better understanding within families, between regions and people.
